Tools For An Essential Church: Church Manual

I spent this past week in Nashville participating in one of my semi-annual Summits at LifeWay. It was a very full week with lots of new information along with a large measure of fun and fellowship with co-workers. I am especially excited about one new resource I learned about and wanted to tell you about it here.

Many of you have read Thom Rainer's books Simple Church and Essential Church. I won't try to describe each of them but they are both "must" reads for ministry leaders today. So, if you haven’t read them yet, get to it. Well, there is now a practical church manual available to help churches and church leaders bring into reality the principles and concepts found in these two books!

Tools for an Essential Church: Church Manual is a how-to-manual that takes leadership through a detailed step-by-step process to implement a strategy for becoming an "essential church"--a place members see as an essential part of their lives. This manual helps church leaders and staff develop strategies and processes to lead their churches to be more effective in carrying out their God-given mission. Manual content provides the research and basic premises of Essential Church and takes leaders through four phases of the Essential Church model: Simplify, Deepen, Expectations, and Multiply. Plus, a free download on LifeWay.com helps a church determine trends in their "current reality." This downloadable document provides a report of current trends within the congregation based upon input entered by the church.

I believe this new resource will be immensely helpful to churches! You can check it out for yourself and get more information here as well as download a free sample of the introductory portion of the manual.

Until next time...share the journey and enjoy the ride!
