It seems I have been attending Vacation Bible School all summer long. Wherever I have been this summer both in Texas and in Louisiana I have visited at least one church every week that was in the middle of VBS. It’s been fun to watch all the children and their workers in “full contact” as they engaged in learning and having fun. And I have even been asked to stay around and help in a few places with the promise of the best refreshments to be found in the county.
Yes, VBS can be an exciting, exhausting, but especially important time of outreach ministry into communities all across our land. But once VBS ends, perhaps it’s then that the most critical Kingdom work begins.
