Developing A Discipleship Strategy

I was talking here on June 20 about LifeWay’s new adult spiritual development plan or process—Connect, Grow, Serve, & Go. I am very excited about this process and its potential strategic use by churches. It uses language with which most people can already relate making it so simple to communicate. And its implementation and use is facilitated by LifeWay now identifying all its adult resources according to one of the four parts of this process. Hopefully, before long there will an updated assessment tool to use with it that will help individuals identify where they are and what next steps they perhaps need to take in their spiritual development.

One tool that has just been released which incorporates this new adult spiritual development plan will be extremely helpful to church leaders.
You may already be familiar with the free discipleship guide LifeWay has provided for several years. But whether you know about it or not, you'll want to download the revised guide for 2008 - Discipleship: Stepping-Stones to Developing Your Church's Strategy and the inserts to help you implement a discipleship strategy in your church. This 37-page guide will help your church intentionally get from where its discipleship ministry is now to where you want it to be. This discipleship guide uses LifeWay's new adult spiritual development process as a starting point. There's also a thorough list of LifeWay resources that are designed to assist Christians of every age group along each step in their spiritual development.

You will also want to check out this Discipleship Resources Index.

Until next time…share the journey and enjoy the ride!
